Respect is a biographical musical drama film directed by Liesl Tommy and based on the life of American singer Aretha Franklin. It was written by Tracey Scott Wilson and directed by Liesl Tommy. Respect will premiere at the 74th Locarno Film Festival on August 13, 2021, and will be released theatrically in the United States by United Artists Releasing and globally by Universal Pictures on the same day.
Respect will be released in cinemas across the United States on August 13, 2021. On December 25, 2020, it was intended to be introduced in limited numbers, then extended on January 8, 2021, before being widely available the following week.
The film follows Vivo, a one-of-a-kind kinkajou who spends his days with his devoted owner Andrés performing music for the public in a bustling Havana square. Despite the fact that they don’t speak the same language, Vivo and Andrés are the ideal pair since they have a passion for music. When tragedy occurs immediately after Andrés gets a letter from Marta Sandoval, asking her former partner to her final show in Miami, Florida in the hopes of reuniting, it’s up to Vivo to convey a message that Andrés could never: a long-ago love letter to Marta in the shape of a song. Vivo, on the other hand, will have to accept the assistance of Andrés’ grand-niece Gabi, an exuberant preteen who bounces to the beat of her own offbeat drum, in order to reach the far shores of Miami.
Vivo is a Sony Pictures Animation computer-animated musical comedy film set to be released in 2021. The film is directed by Kirk DeMicco and co-directed by Brandon Jeffords, based on a script by DeMicco and Quiara Alegra Hudes and a narrative by Peter Barsocchini, with music written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also voices the eponymous character in the cast that also includes Ynairaly Simo, Zoe Saldana, Juan de Marcos González, Michael Rooker, Brian Tyree Henry, Nicole Byer, and Gloria Estefan. The film is the first musical by Sony Pictures Animation.
Vivo premiered in select theaters on July 30, 2021, and will be available digitally on Netflix on August 6, 2021.
While studying in Marseille for a year, Bill Baker, an oil worker in Stillwater, Oklahoma, finds that his estranged daughter Allison has been wrongly imprisoned and accused of killing her friend and companion Lina. When he visits her in prison, he discovers that her legal options have virtually run out. Despite a language barrier, cultural differences, and a difficult and alien court system based on the French penal code, he relocates permanently to France and works hard to clean her record. He is assisted by Virginie (Cottin), a French woman, and her eight-year-old daughter Maya. As the strain mounts, he must decide how far he is willing to go.
Stillwater is a Tom McCarthy-directed American criminal thriller film from 2021, based on a story he co-wrote with Marcus Hinchey, Thomas Bidegain, and Noé Debré. It stars Matt Damon as an unemployed Oklahoma oil rig worker who teams up with a French lady (Camille Cottin) to establish the innocence of his imprisoned daughter (Abigail Breslin).
On July 8, 2021, the film had its international debut at the Cannes Film Festival, and Focus Features distributed it theatrically in the United States on July 30, 2021. Critics had varied feelings about it.
7- SWEET GIRL
Ray Cooper, a devout family man, vows vengeance on the pharmaceutical company that removed a possibly life-saving drug from the market just before his wife (Adria Arjona) passes away from cancer. When Ray’s quest for the truth leads to a terrible confrontation that threatens Ray and his daughter Rachel (Isabela Merced), Ray’s aim shifts to a desire for vengeance in order to protect the only family he has left.
Sweet Girl is a forthcoming American action thriller film written by Philip Eisner, Gregg Hurwitz, and Will Staples, and directed by Brian Andrew Mendoza in his feature directorial debut.
Jason Momoa, Isabela Merced, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Raza Jaffrey, Lex Scott Davis, Michael Raymond-James, and Amy Brenneman are among the cast members.
Netflix is planning to release it on August 20, 2021.
6- FREE GUY
Guy (Reynolds) is a non-player character (NPC) that works as a bank teller in the open-world video game Free City. Guy becomes self-aware of his world being a video game thanks to a program developed by programmers Millie (Comer) and Keys (Keery) and inserted into Free City by publisher Antwan (Waititi) and takes steps to make himself the hero, resulting in a race against time to save the game before the developers can shut it down.
Free Guy will be released in theaters in the United States on August 13, 2021, according to 20th Century Studios. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the release date was moved back three times from July 2020.
5- DON’T BREATHE 2
Norman Nordstrom (Stephen Lang) in Don’t Breathe was underestimated by everyone due to his blindness: he displayed an uncompromising drive to survive and obtain what he wanted… But he also has a terrible, wicked aspect to his nature, as nothing – no person or conscience – will stand in his path. 4-THE SUICIDE SQUAD

And, as is typical, one bad move will get them sent out. If anyone is betting, the smart money is on the underdog.
The Suicide Squad will be released theatrically in the United Kingdom on July 30, 2021, and will be available for streaming on HBO Max for a month the following day in the United States. Critics appreciated Gunn’s directing, visual flair, and irreverent humor in the picture, which earned favorable reviews.
A fishing company is operated by a culturally Deaf family in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in the United States. Ruby, who is 17 and the only hearing member of the family, assists her Deaf parents and brother with the company. She joins the choir group in high school, where she meets her duet partner and discovers a love for singing. Her choirmaster urges her to think about music school, and she must choose between assisting her family and pursuing her ambition.
CODA made its international debut at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival on January 28, 2021. CODA’s distribution rights were purchased by Apple for a festival record of $25 million. On August 13, 2021, the film will be released in cinemas and on the Apple TV+ streaming service.
2- THE GREEN KNIGHT
The Green Knight is a fantasy adventure based on the Arthurian tale of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s brazen nephew, who embarks on a quest to confront the titular Knight, a massive tree-like creature.
The Green Knight, written, edited, produced, and directed by David Lowery, is an upcoming American epic medieval fantasy film. The film, which is based on the Sir Gawain and the Green Knight poem, stars Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sarita Choudhury, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Barry Keoghan, and Ralph Ineson.
1- BLACK WIDOW
Natasha Romanoff, dubbed Black Widow, is forced to confront the darkest parts of her past as a nefarious plan with ties to her past arises. While being hunted by a force that would stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must cope with her history as a spy and the broken relationships she left in her wake even before she became an Avenger.
On July 9, 2021, Black Widow, a superhero film based on the Marvel Comics comic book Black Widow, was published. It is Marvel Studios’ twenty-fourth superhero film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cate Shortland’s film stars Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbor, O. T. Fagbenle, Ray Winstone, and Rachel Weisz and was shot in Hungary, Norway, and the United Kingdom.
BONUS: HUNT FOR WILDER PEOPLE
Ricky Baker, a juvenile delinquent who was abandoned by his mother, is sent to live with foster aunt Bella Faulkner and her husband, the cantankerous southern man Hec, on a distant farm by child welfare services officer Paula and police officer Andy. Taika Waititi wrote and directed Hunt for the Wilderpeople, a 2016 New Zealand adventure comedy-drama film based on the book Wild Pork and Watercress by Barry Crump. “Uncle” Hector and Ricky Baker, played by Sam Neill and Julian Dennison, are a father figure and foster son who become the subjects of a search after fleeing into the New Zealand wilderness. The film was produced by Carthew Neal, Leanne Saunders, Matt Noonan, and Waititi.
On January 22, 2016, the film debuted at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. On March 31, 2016, the film was released in New Zealand.
On June 24, 2016, the film had a limited release in North America. The film garnered positive reviews, with many critics praising Dennison and Neill’s relationship and performances.
BONUS: CAPTAIN FANTASTIC
