Salma Hayek takes place in the new “Black Mirror”
“Schitt’s Creek” star Annie Murphy is also being considered for a role in the sixth season of the British anthology series.
It looks like the already impressive ensemble cast for the Netflix series will be joined by an Oscar-nominated Mexican and an Emmy-winning Canadian. Salma Hayek and Annie Murphy should be considered for roles when “Black Mirror” gets its sixth season, Variety writes .
Other clear actors are Zazie Beetz (“Deadpool 2”), Paapa Essiedu (“I May Destroy You”), Josh Hartnett, Aaron Paul, Kate Mara, Danny Ramirez (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”), Danish Clara Rugaard, Auden Thornton (“This is Us”) and Anjana Vasan (“Cyrano”). Unlike the fifth season’s three parts, this one will have several episodes.
Well-known Hayek continues to be relevant, after last year’s “House of Gucci” and “Eternals”, she will soon also be relevant in Angelina Jolie’s “Without Blood” and Steven Soderbergh’s “Magic Mike’s Last Dance”. Murphy got a well-deserved breakthrough as the daughter Alexis in “Schitt’s Creek” and has since appeared in both “Russian Doll” and as the main character in “Kevin Can F*** Himself.”
It is hardly surprising that “Black Mirror” continues to attract remarkable talent such as Hayek and Murphy. It remains to be seen if they manage to maintain the same quality as previous seasons, but considering the talent in front of the camera, it bodes well.
