Will Arnett, Terry Crews, Geraldine Viswanathan, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, Tony Danza, Becky Lynch, Susan Kelechi Watson, Stephen A. Smith, Jimmy Tatro, and Ben Schwartz star in the film, which is loosely based on Rob Harrell’s graphic novel Monster on the Hill. Rumble (2022) Synopsis
In a world where huge monsters and humans collide, the monsters are professional wrestlers who fight in Monster Wrestling, a popular global professional wrestling sport. Winnie, a little girl, hopes to follow in her father’s footsteps as a manager by mentoring Steve, a charming underdog but unskilled monster. Winnie intends to make Steve a champion so that he can face Tentacular, the current champion.

Production
Reel FX Creative Studios announced on February 18, 2015, that Matt Lieberman would write an adaptation of Rob Harrell’s 2013 graphic novel Monster on the Hill. At CinemaCon in Las Vegas on April 25, 2018, Paramount Animation announced that it had joined the project as a co-producer with Walden Media. The film was initially set to be directed by Bradley Raymond, but he was replaced by Hamish Grieve, the head of the story for DreamWorks Animation’s Rise of the Guardians, for unknown reasons. The title was changed to Rumble on June 12, 2019.
