Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, Sarah Silverman, John Bradley, Michelle Buteau, Chloe Coleman, and Maluma will star in the film. Universal Pictures is set to release Marry Me on February 11, 2022.

A sensational Latin popstar (Jennifer Lopez) chooses to marry a stranger (Owen Wilson) waving a “Marry Me” sign at her live concert after realizing that her on-stage partner (Maluma) has been having an affair behind her back.

Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson will star in the romantic comedy film Marry Me, which will be released in April 2019. STX Entertainment will distribute the film, which Kat Coiro will direct from a script by John Rogers, Tami Sagher, and Harper Dill and is based on Bobby Crosby’s comic novel of the same name. In July 2019, Universal Pictures was named as the film’s distributor, replacing STX. Sarah Silverman, John Bradley, and Maluma joined the cast of the film in the same month. In October, Michelle Buteau, Jameela Jamil, and Chloe Coleman were cast.

Lopez informed Ebro Darden of Beats 1 radio in April 2019 while promoting her track “Medicine” that her next album will “probably be with a new movie.” She revealed in February 2020 that she would be releasing a new album in conjunction with Marry Me, which would also serve as the film’s soundtrack. She informed Jimmy Fallon that the album will include “six or eight” tracks by herself and “two or three” songs by Maluma, as well as a duet between the two that will be played as both an uptempo and a ballad.


On February 11, 2022, Universal Pictures will release Marry Me. It was originally scheduled for February 12, 2021, but was pushed back to May 14, 2021, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, before being pushed back to February 11, 2022, due to a change in the release timetable.
