Hotel Transylvania: Transformania (also known as Hotel Transylvania 4) is an upcoming American computer-animated monster comedy film produced by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation and distributed by Amazon Studios. It is the fourth and last movie of the Hotel Transylvania franchise, directed by Jennifer Kluska and Derek Drymon from a script written by Amos Vernon, Nunzio Randazzo, and Genndy Tartakovsky (who directed the prior three films).
Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez (who also served as an executive producer alongside Tartakovsky), Kathryn Hahn, Jim Gaffigan, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, David Spade, Keegan-Michael Key, Brian Hull (replacing Adam Sandler), Fran Drescher, Brad Abrell (replacing Kevin James), and Asher Blinkoff lend their voices to the film.
Hotel Transylvania: Transformania (2022) Synopsis
When Van Helsing’s secret invention, the “Monsterfication Ray,” malfunctions, Drac and his monster companions are all converted into humans, and Johnny transforms into a monster! In their new mismatched bodies, Drac, who has lost his talents, and an energetic Johnny, who is enjoying life as a monster, must partner up and race around the world to discover a cure before it’s too late, and before they drive each other insane. The pressure is on to discover a method to swap themselves back before their changes become permanent, with the assistance of Mavis and the delightfully human Drac Pack.

Hotel Transylvania: Transformania Release
Amazon Studios plans to broadcast Hotel Transylvania: Transformania on Prime Video on January 14, 2022. Sony Pictures Releasing set the film’s release date for December 22, 2021, in February 2019. The film’s release date was pushed back to August 6, 2021, in April 2020. The film was pushed back until July 23, 2021, in April 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film was postponed to October 1, 2021, in June 2021.
In reaction to increased incidences of the SARS-CoV-2 Delta strain in the United States, Sony Pictures Releasing terminated the film’s theatrical plans in August 2021 and was in talks to sell the distribution rights to a streaming service. On August 16, 2021, it was reported that Amazon Studios was in talks with Sony Pictures Releasing to acquire the distribution rights to the film for $100 million and would release it exclusively on Amazon Prime Video worldwide, excluding China, where Sony would release it theatrically on an unspecified date.
Sony would also keep the film’s home entertainment and linear television rights. Amazon scheduled a January 14, 2022 release date on October 6, 2021.
