F9: THE FAST SAGA REVIEW
F9 (sometimes referred to as F9: The Fast Saga and Fast & Furious 9) is a 2021 American action film directed by Justin Lin and written by Daniel Casey and Lin. It is the ninth major chapter and tenth full-length film in the Fast & Furious franchise, after The Fate of the Furious (2017). Sung Kang, Michael Rooker, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, and Charlize Theron feature alongside Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Michael Rooker, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, and Charlize Theron in the picture. Dominic Toretto and the crew join forces in F9 to foil a world-shattering conspiracy led by Toretto’s brother, Jakob.
Lin was announced to be directing Fast & Furious 9 in October 2017, returning to the franchise after directing Fast & Furious 6 in 2014. With a ninth and tenth picture planned since 2014, Lin was reported to be directing F9 in October 2017. (2013). Since 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), F9 is the first film in the franchise that was not written by Chris Morgan. Principal photography began in June 2019 with the addition of John Cena, and continued until November of the same year, with filming locales including London, Los Angeles, Tbilisi, and Thailand.
Universal Pictures had intended to release F9 in April 2020, but it was postponed multiple times, first owing to the release of Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019) and the planned release of No Time to Die (2021), and then due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It premiered in South Korea on May 19, 2021, and was released globally on May 19, 2021, and on June 25, 2021, in the United States. The film garnered mixed reviews, with some praising the stunts and Lin’s directing and others criticizing the implausible action sequences and predictable storyline. As of July 2021, it had grossed over $592 million worldwide, making it the third-highest-grossing picture of the year.

In an interview, Vin Diesel confirmed that they will begin filming for the last two movies in the series next January. In fact, director Justin Lin said that the filming will start in 2022, but we have a definite date with the confirmation of Vin Diesel. Vin Diesel said that the series will be on the silver screen for the last time in 2024.
