Batman: DC Reveals The Joker’s True Identity
DC Comics has just revealed the true identity of Batman’s nemesis, the Clown Prince of Crime, Joker.
One of the characteristics that makes all the strength of the character of the Joker and the absence of information about his origins and his real identity. In 1988, Alan Moore had proposed an origin of the character with Batman : The Killing Joke in which he is a failed comedian with a wife and child.
In the latest issue of Flashpoint Beyond of DC, the real identity of the Joker would have been revealed. In issue #5, an alternate version of the Joker – the Flashpoint timeline’s Martha Wayne – learns that Bruce has become Batman in the main DC Universe, is that the Joker is a man named Jack Oswald White. According to Martha Wayne’s Flashpoint version, the original DC Joker was a failed comedian with a wife and child, a reference to The Killing Joke.
In the Flashpoint timeline, Jack Oswald White has a job cleaning the Wayne Casino restrooms. While this version Martha encounters isn’t from the main universe, the characters do share the same names with their main continuity counterparts.
Thus, Jack Oswald White could well be the real identity of the Joker.
